Fire Destroyed Evidence Room
ROBBINSVILLE, N.C. -- A man has been arrested in connection with a fire at the Graham County Sheriff's Department last week.
Mitchum Turpin was charged with, among other things, malicious injury by explosives of an incendiary device, breaking and entering, obstruction of justice and destroying evidence.
The fire last Monday destroyed the evidence room of the department. A brick wall separating the evidence room and the main offices kept the fire from spreading, firefighters said.
Turpin was being held at the Cherokee County jail on $250,000 bond.
