CENTRALIA, Wash. (KOMO) -- Authorities in Lewis County say a search of a truck carrying Starbucks' products to Spokane this week turned up 126 pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs.
Two people, the 22-year-old driver from Mexico, and a 62-year-old passenger from California, were arrested and booked into jail.
Police say the truck was coming from California and was stopped Thursday. Because of what police say was the suspicious activity of the driver and passenger, a drug-sniffing dog was called, then the truck was searched.
The search turned up 40 bundles of meth in a television box on the top bunk of the sleeper berth and 50 bundles on the lower mattress. Also found were 2.4 pounds of suspected heroin, several thousands oxycodone 30-milligram pills and a few grams of cocaine, authorities said.
Police said no drugs were found in the trailer and that none of the food there was contaminated. The trailer was picked up by another truck and continued on to Spokane.
