Salary: 44k-52k based on Training and Experience
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required. Completion of some relevant college-level coursework preferred.
- Experience in clerical work or inventory management strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of laws pertaining to Property and Evidence in the state of North Carolina preferred.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office
- Ability to learn Agency software applications and databases
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 10-15 pounds regularly, up to 40lbs occasionally.
- Often exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Valid Driver's License
Job Duties:
- Maintain evidentiary chain of custody and integrity of all property and evidence
- Ensure all property and evidence is accounted for, preserved, and retained according to local, state, and federal regulations and laws.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections and audits to ensure no discrepancies or inconsistencies
- Verify ownership and authorization for release of property or evidence
- Transport evidence to and from the NC State Crime Lab and other locations as required
- Prepare, receive, record, and execute court orders regarding property, contraband, and weapons.
- Provide court testimony regarding evidence when required
- Engage with the public regularly regarding property and evidence returns
- Performs general clerical work, including but not limited to upkeeping spreadsheets, filing documents, entering and retrieving computer-based data, answering phone calls, collecting and receipting fees, and other duties.
