KAMLOOPS, B.C. — More charges have been laid against a former B.C. Mountie accused of stealing drugs from a police evidence locker.

Staff Sgt. Stuart Seib was suspended as head of the Merritt detachment in January after he was charged with theft and breach of trust following allegations he stole and used cocaine stored in the locker.

Court heard Wednesday that two extra charges have been laid — one each of theft and breach of trust — dating back to June 2010.

Following the initial charges, RCMP investigators examined every case Seib had handled.

Seib was stationed in Clearwater until November 2011, when he was transferred to Merritt.

His case has been adjourned until July.

Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Vermeulen said in a note to The Province that Seib has resigned from the RCMP "and he will never work for the RCMP again."
