Tattnall County, GA

STATESBORO — Officials in the U.S. Attorney's office say a former Tattnall County sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to nine years in prison for selling illegal drugs he stole from the evidence room.

Authorities say 26-year-old Ramsey Collins Arnold, of Claxton, pleaded guilty to selling methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana he stole from the evidence room at the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office and trading the drugs for oxycodone in 2011.

It is unclear when Arnold is ordered to report to prison.

Statesboro is about 50 miles west of Savannah.
