2 Officers Did Not Follow Towing Rotation

BUNNELL, Fla. -- Two local police officers have been arrested and charged with official misconduct.

Husband and wife, Lt. John Murray, 47, and Cpl. Lisa Murray, 41, have been under investigation for several months and are accused of steering towing business to Saxon’s Wrecker rather than following a rotation service.

Saxon’s is owned by Bunnell Commissioner James Flynt Sr.

Flynt has not been charged and said he had no idea this was going on.

“I feel very saddened for my competition if there has been any wrongdoings in our business,” Flynt said.

John Murray has also been charged with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence and grand theft.

He was the department’s evidence custodian and allegedly took cash and didn’t enter several marijuana plants into evidence.
