Property & Evidence Technician - San Diego State University (SDSU) PD, CA

Salary: Salary Range: $2,790 - $5,049 per month - depending on education, experience and qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school level reading and writing abilities
  • Possession of a CA Driver's license
  • May also require the successful completion of a background check, physical and psychological exam 
  • The ability to attend Peace Officer Standards (P.O.S.T.) programs related to public safety and dispatch activities
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn how to use applicable public safety related equipment and systems

  • Experience working within a police property and evidence unit
  • Completion of a police property and evidence training course

  • The position requires near and far vision when operating assigned equipment and using a computer screen
  • Acute hearing is required in the office as well as other remote locations
  • Must be willing to work in a warehouse environment and wear a uniform or PPE gear

Job Duties:

Receives, records, preserves, releases and/or disposes of property, evidence or supplies within the judicial process and maintains inventory procedures as stipulated by state and federal laws and regulations.

This is a non-sworn position within the University Police Department, on the campus of San Diego State University (SDSU), that is responsible for performing non-emergency, law enforcement, support staff duties.
