Louisiana State Police have arrested the assistant chief of the Vinton Police Department. Col. Michael Edmonson said Wednesday that investigators had booked CP on charges of malfeasance and theft of more than $150,000. He's being held in the Calcasieu Parish prison under a $50,000 bond. CP was the department's evidence custodian and had been under investigation after money turned up missing from the evidence room. Edmonson says the alleged theft occurred over a year.
