A Chattanooga Police sergeant is on administrative leave in connection with a probe by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on missing drugs from the police evidence room.

Sgt. Kevin Kincer is off the job, TBI officials said.

TBI spokesperson Kristin Helm said, "Employees who work in the property section of the police department, which includes the evidence room, discovered evidence bags that had been tampered with, as well as missing items including illegal pills."

She said locks have been changed in the property room.

When the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the District Attorney General's office.
