Ebensburg, Cambria County Pa. - A former Johnstown police officer accused of stealing heroin from an evidence locker, and then overdosing while on the job will be in court today.
William Slisz allegedly started stealing drugs in the fall of 2015.
Then, in September of 2016, police say an officer found him unconscious at work, with a hammer lying next to him, and a hole in the wall leading to the evidence room.
Officials say his alleged crimes destroyed evidence and forced them to throw out other cases..
His formal arraignment is set to begin at 8 this morning.
