Former Randleman Police employee indicted for larceny

RANDLEMAN, N.C. – A Randolph County Grand Jury has returned a True Bill of Indictment for larceny by an employee on a former Randleman Police Department employee, Sharon Ledbetter Hardison.

According to a press release, Randleman Police Chief Steve Leonard discovered that more than $7,800 was missing from the evidence room while taking inventory on Nov. 11, 2013.

Chief Leonard contacted the Randolph County District Attorney’s Office and a request was made from ADA Andy Gregson to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to take over the investigation.

Hardison had been employed with the Randleman Police Department since 1995 until she was terminated in November 2013.

Hardison was the department’s evidence custodian and had been since early 2000
