The Associated Press State & Local Wire

Vevay, IN

Former Indiana state gaming investigator has been arrested after he was accused of misusing counterfeit money that had been confiscated by authorities.

State police say 46-year-old Troy Knorr was accused of taking for his personal use counterfeit money that had been stored in an evidence locker at Belterra Casino in Vevay. Knorr was an investigator for the Indiana Gaming Commission, but Commission Director Ernie Yelton says Knorr was terminated as a result of the allegations.

Knorr, of Columbus, faces felony charges of forgery, corrupt business influence, theft and official misconduct. He was arrested Tuesday and released on bond from the Switzerland County Jail.

Knorr didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
