KENTWOOD, La. -- The Kentwood Police Department is under investigation following a complaint of missing evidence.

Louisiana State Police say a report came into the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office within the past two weeks, but it was referred to troopers.

State police investigators have since confirmed the validity of the missing evidence claims and are now actively investigating the department.

Troopers would not confirm what the missing evidence is.

The Kentwood police chief did not have a comment for this story.
