JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Jackson Assistant Police Chief Lee Vance has confirmed there was a break in at the JPD evidence room.

We don't have a lot of information right now, but we are told that the break in happened either overnight Sunday or overnight Monday.

Vance says that the incident did not happen at headquarters, but at a barn off Jefferson Street where they keep large items.

Police are working to gather information on what all exactly was stolen.

We will have more information later this afternoon.
