MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. — Authorities in Morgan County asked TBI to help determine the cause of a fire at the sheriff's office.
There was a fire this evening in one area of the upstairs level of the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, per Sheriff Wayne Potter.
At his request I have asked for TBI investigators to assist in determining cause and origin of the fire.
The evidence room is intact which, after the safety of any personnel, was my main concern.
Sheriff Potter and the responding fire departments had every thing under control.
The jail was never in danger but Sheriff requested transport buses from MCSO, which were provided by Warden Mike Parris.
