BEAUREGARD PARISH, LA (KPLC) -
A retired Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Deputy stole money from an evidence room while he was an active deputy, according to a news release from state police.
Saul Wilson, 56, of DeRidder, was arrested Monday on counts of malfeasance in office and felony theft. He was booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail on $10,000 bond.
Sgt. James Anderson, with Louisiana State Police Troop D, said Wilson allegedly removed money orders and U.S. currency from evidence and deposited them into his bank account. The former Narcotics Division supervisor retired in February 2018.
