Ogden • Public documents show a fired evidence-room technician acknowledged using methamphetamine seized in Weber County Sheriff's Office investigations.
The Standard-Examiner reports that the former tech was fired Jan. 8, 2018, after her supervisor found her to be impaired multiple times. Police say they're investigating possible criminal charges against the woman.
The Weber County Attorney's Office's criminal investigation into the case remains ongoing. Sheriff's Lt. Matt Jensen said Monday that a separate internal investigation by the sheriff's office remains open as well.
The former employee is accused of using methamphetamine taken from up to 20 criminal cases over the course of a year.
Documents say the former employee underwent a drug test, which showed she had illegal drugs in her system.
